Victoria, BC and other pics of the Pacific Northwest

Hello 2015!

We have been in Victoria since the second week of October 2014. It is a beautiful city, full of pubs, restaurants, beautiful gardens, and lots of shops downtown near the inner harbor where we are moored. The changing of the fall colors was dramatic in the local trees and the climbing vines on the front of the Empress Hotel. Now the sky is usually cloudy and gray with rain on and off all the time. The Canadians really know how to decorate for Christmas, which started the day after Halloween and are just now starting to come down. Our son David came for a Christmas visit- our first Christmas together for a few years. He enjoyed himself, shopping in the Chinese tea shops and tasting the local craft beers. We took a few days and went to Sydney, and then Montegue Harbor to visit the marine park and hike. Here are some pictures of the Christmas lights and others around Victoria plus more pics from our visits to the San Juan Islands in the September.
